Also this morning the temperature at the sea surface (20 cm depth) in front of Rimini and Cesenatico reached 30 degrees, but even more exceptional was the 30.2°C recorded yesterday at a depth of 8.40 meters.
Here are the sea temperatures recorded by Piergiorgio Cappelli (weather forecast enthusiast) at the east end of the Rimini Port Marina on August 14th, 500 meters from the coast, over the past 34 years:

Temperatures in the Mediterranean Sea have risen significantly, exceeding 90% compared to historical norms. This phenomenon is particularly worrying because the Mediterranean Sea is a key area for marine biodiversity, fisheries and the climate of the surrounding regions.
Rising sea temperatures are often associated with global climate change and increasingly frequent and intense summer heatwaves.
