Monchi police focus on operations to seize ammunition

At approximately 10:30pm on Thursday 8 August 2024, the Special Operations Group, with support from the Traffic Enforcement Team (TET), conducted a targeted policing operation in the Monchy neighbourhood of Gros Islet, resulting in the arrest of one person and the seizure of illegally possessed ammunition.

During this operation, police executed a search warrant at the residence of Jason Ulysee in Monchi, Gros Islet. The search resulted in the seizure of twenty-two (22) rounds of .303 caliber ammunition. Following the search, the suspect, Jason Ulysee, was arrested and charged with possession of ammunition.

Jason Ulysee filed a bail application with the court, upon which he was granted bail in the amount of Ten Thousand Dollars (XCD10,000.00) in cash, appropriate surety or land document.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force remains committed to ensuring the safety of all communities and will continue to conduct operations such as this one to remove illegal firearms and ammunition from our streets.
