PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – Trinidad police shot and killed six people, including a woman, in Freeport.
Police said the victim was suspected of being involved in two home invasions in the central area within the past 12 hours. The victim has not yet been identified.
They said five men and a woman opened fire on them and they returned fire in accordance with use of force policy, killing all six people at the scene.
According to media reports, the victims were part of a criminal gang that had committed several robberies in the Central District in the past few months.

As of Monday, 29 people had been killed in clashes with police, almost matching the 30 deaths recorded during the same period in 2023.
