The actress shared a series of posts on her Instagram condemning the brutal crime and highlighting the concerns raised about the safety of women in the country.
Alia’s Instagram post begins by focusing on the brutal violence women in India endure, and it’s chilling. “Another brutal rape. Another day that makes me realise that women are not safe anywhere,” the actress wrote. Alia’s post also cited the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) report of 2022, where she highlighted the alarming statistics of violence against women in India, especially against medical workers. With a shocking 90 cases of rape reported every day in 2022, Alia highlighted the sexual violence crisis plaguing the country. She also mentioned how women in the country work under the constant fear of such vile practices.
Urging the creation of safe spaces for women in India and calling for stronger protections, Alia concluded her post with a call to action: “Don’t tell women to change their path – change the terrain. Every woman deserves better.”
Talking about Alia’s work, the actress is gearing up for the upcoming film Jigra. Bhatt will also be seen in Alpha, where she will be seen sharing the screen with Sharvari Vargh.
