The Immigration Watch online portal, which is designed to report information on illegal immigration and other immigration-related issues, received 290 complaints.

In a statement published on the government’s official website Sarkar.mv, the Ministry of Interior said that of the 290 cases submitted to Migration Watch so far, 139 cases are under investigation and 146 cases are being verified. He also pointed out that five of the cases were insignificant.

The portal, which is located on the Maldives Immigration Department’s IMUGA website, allows you to submit complaints anonymously. It is part of the current government’s priority to track down and deport illegal immigrants.

More than 2,000 foreigners have been deported in the past seven months and special raids are being carried out to track down illegal immigrants.
