Instagram first introduced carousels, the ability to post multiple photos in a single post, in 2015. At the time, five photos could be uploaded at a time. In 2017, the feature was expanded to 10, including videos.
In March this year, Instagram conducted several rounds of testing to expand the feature. In this test, the limited pool of opportunities was modified to include 15 photos or videos in a single carousel.
