Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said an Israeli delegation will take part in negotiations with Hamas on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of hostages.

The talks are scheduled for August 15.

Israel will send a delegation to a location to be determined, based on proposals from the United States and the mediators.

During the meeting, the two sides should finalize the implementation details of the Israeli-Hamas framework agreement.

Earlier, on August 8, US President Joe Biden, Egyptian leader Abdul Sisi and Qatari Emir Tamim Al Thani issued a joint statement on the White House website.

It is in this document that the warring parties call for a meeting on Thursday, August 15, in Doha (capital of Qatar) or Cairo (capital of Egypt) to bridge all differences and begin implementing the agreement “without further delay”.

According to The Times of Israel, 111 of the 251 hostages kidnapped by Hamas in the October 7, 2023 attack remain in the Gaza Strip, along with two Israeli civilians (2014 and 2015) and the bodies of two soldiers killed in 2014.
