PARIS: Breakdancing took centre stage at the Paris Olympics on Friday (Aug 9), but one B-Girl stole the show with an embarrassing performance that left many wondering why she was taking part in the event.
Australian university lecturer Rachael Gunn, 36, who is known as “B-Girl Raygun” for her breakdancing, has baffled fans with her dance moves, which include lying on the stage and dancing with her chin in her hands, in a video that has gone viral.
She also avoided wearing hip-hop-inspired garb like other breakdancers, opting instead for a green and gold Australian team tracksuit and cap.
X User @GeorgieHeath27 wrote: “While everyone else was wearing trendy ragtag outfits, Australian B-Girl Raygun dressed up as a school PE teacher, complete with hat, got me.”
“It looks like she was on academic probation for being inappropriately dressed at school.”
The judges weren’t impressed either. Gunn lost all three round-robin matches, with a combined score of 54-0. The winner of the match was Japanese Yuasa AmiB-Girl Ami.
