Brigadier General Qaani congratulated Yahya Sinwar in a letter on Friday on his appointment as the head of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas.
He expressed condolences for the killing of Martyr Haniyeh in Tehran in late July, and stressed that Martyr Haniyeh was one of the brave leaders of the Islamic resistance movement and a valuable figure who brought unity to the Islamic world.
He quoted Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, as saying: “We believe it is our duty to avenge him for this tragic event that happened in the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
Brigadier General Qaani also said: “The heroic struggle of your brothers in the Islamic resistance movement will strengthen the effect of this punishment and eliminate this ominous phenomenon as soon as possible.”
He stressed that “by choosing a leader with a different logic, Hamas has demonstrated that its proud banner is in the hands of the most influential person on the battlefield.”
