Competition continues to rage in the Saint Lucia Semi-Professional Football League (SPFL).

In last weekend’s game, Central Castries fought back from a 2-0 deficit to beat Gros Islet 4-2. The win vaulted Central Castries to the top of the Division I standings, while Gros Islet fell to third place.
Meanwhile, Dennery moved up to second place with a dominant 3-0 win over Desruisseaux. La Clery also won a dominant 3-0 over Mabouya. However, despite this win, the race for fourth place remains undecided.
A team like Soufriere, who won 2-1 against Laborie, still have 2 games to play. Also, the Canaries, who currently have 10 points but still have 3 games to play, will end the season with some must-see games.
After this weekend’s games, Vieux Fort North retained fourth place after a 4-0 win over Baboneau in their last match. Castries South climbed to fifth place after scoring the winning goal against Vieux Fort South and remained unbeaten in the second division.

The Saint Lucia Football Association (SLFA) Senior Men’s Inter-Club Championship continued on Tuesday, August 6.
At the Fond Assau Sports Arena, Agardianz FC faced New Generation and Garrand FC faced B 1 FC.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday (August 7) at 6pm, the OBLA Fusion team will face the CT Foundation team at the Anse La Raye Sports Field.
The MPR Northern Club Championships kick off on Saturday, August 3 at the Fond Assau Sports Arena.
Boggis United All Stars and Northern United tied 2 – 2. In the other match, Garland FC defeated Pioneers 3 – 1. The scorers for Garland FC were Linus David in the 19th and 50th minutes and Rick David in the 73rd minute.
On Sunday (August 4), the Big Players defeated the Dominators 2 – 0 behind a brace from Lincoln Phillips.
In a further update, the Saint Lucia Women’s U-15 football team lost to Guadeloupe 2 – 0 in their opening match of the CONCACAF Women’s U-15 Championship currently being held in Aruba. Their next match will be against the Aruba All-Stars on Tuesday (August 6).
On August 5, the Saint Lucia Football Association, the National Men’s Under-14 Team Technical Department and parents held a meeting at the Saint Lucia Football Association base to further assess to parents the situation of Saint Lucia’s participation in the CFU Under-14 Challenge Series in Antigua and Barbuda later this month.
The Saint Lucia team will depart for the competition on August 14.
