Kathmandu, 30 July. Only one person has been nominated to chair the Union Parliament Hearings Committee and the National Committee for Monitoring and Evaluation of Implementation of Guidelines, Policies and Responsibilities.

The notification issued by Padma Prasad Pandey, secretary general of the Parliamentary Secretariat, mentioned that only Ishwaridevi Neupane, leader of the Nepali Congress and a member of the committee, was nominated as the chairman of the hearing committee. Shyam Kumar Ghimire was one of the supporters of his nomination, along with Sunita Baral.

Similarly, Thakur Prasad Gayre, a Nepal Communist Party (UML) leader and committee member, has been nominated as the director of the state’s Sidhanth Committee. His supporter is Saraswati Subba, and his supporter is Dilendra Prasad Badu.

Their nominations were registered on Wednesday and the election date for the committee chairman is set for Thursday, July 31.

The election plan information mentioned that the proposer will put forward a proposal related to the election at the relevant committee meeting held at 3 pm on Thursday, and after obtaining the support of supporters, the proposal will be submitted to the Election Committee for decision.

The election of the chairman of the committee is coming about a year and a half after the House of Representatives election. Previously, the parliamentary hearing committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of senior members of parliament, and the implementation monitoring and evaluation committee of the principles, policies and responsibilities of national directors was established on July 16.
