Today’s Scripture
“The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while everyone was asleep, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and then went away.”
Matthew 13:24–25
Weeds
Friends, in Matthew 13, Jesus tells a story about a man who was planting wheat. He planted good seeds and did the right things. But while he was sleeping, an enemy came and planted weeds in his land, and the weeds grew among his wheat. While this was a big problem, the good news is that the weeds could not stop the wheat from being harvested, and the weeds were destroyed.
What this means is that even if you do the right things, honor God, and strive to be your best every day, you should not be surprised by unexpected challenges, unexpected troubles, and unexpected difficulties. When you are close to victory, when you are about to achieve an achievement or a breakthrough, when you are about to enter the harvest season, unexpected problems will arise because the enemy will try to stop you from moving forward. Don’t worry. Remember, our God has unexpected favors, unexpected breakthroughs, and unexpected promotions. Just wait and let God take care of it all for you. Those weeds cannot stop you from fulfilling your God-given destiny.
Prayer for Today
“Thank you, Father, that all that you have in store for me will be released and harvested in my life in due time. Thank you that I can wait with anticipation, knowing that you will deal with the weeds of the enemy. Help me to remain patient, knowing that you are always at work. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”
