British American Tobacco (BAT) Zambia paid K218.5 million in taxes to the government in the six months to June 30 this year.
These taxes include excise duty, value added tax (VAT), PAYE, withholding taxes, customs duties and corporate income tax, totalling K218.5 million.
Taxes and fees paid increased by 16% compared to the same period last year.
In its half-year results ending June 30 this year, BATZ said total revenue grew 35% to 580.5 million kyats, thanks to the best pricing strategy implemented during the period.
