WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live: Roman Reigns rumored to return as CM Punk, latest news and results

The specifics of a WWE contract have long been uncertain. However, WWE star-turned-executive Triple H (real name Paul Levesque) told sports In 2022, $250,000 is the minimum base salary for wrestlers in the company.

Of course, that number may have increased since then, and this reportedly only applies to members of the Smackdown Live and Raw rosters, and does not include wrestlers on WWE’s developmental show NXT.

There are rumors that Roman Reigns, one of WWE’s top stars, could return during or after the main event between Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoya. Reigns last made a WWE appearance at WrestleMania 40 in April, where he lost to Rhodes, and the two have been rivals for several years. Meanwhile, Sikoya is Reigns’ cousin, and the two have been allies for a long time.

However, in the storyline, Sekoa took over Reigns’ “Bloodline” faction during Reigns’ absence, and it is expected that Reigns may return in more of a “decent” (good guy) role, siding with Rhodes against the “villain” (bad guy) Solo.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is not expected to appear, but he is involved in the main storyline. After teaming up with his cousin Reigns to defeat Rhodes at WrestleMania — Rhodes defeated Reigns in a one-on-one match the night before — Johnson later vowed to return one day to avenge his defeat with the new Undisputed WWE Champion.

Seth Rollins has arrived in Cleveland and he will serve as the special guest referee for tonight’s match between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre. The highly anticipated match between the two was intense enough before Rollins stepped in to offer his services, so expect plenty of excitement when the action in the ring begins.

Ahead of SummerSlam, Rollins insisted he would call the bout a “draw” – but that could change soon, especially given the history between these three men…

Shane McMahon – son of former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon – was spotted meeting with AEW’s Tony Khan ahead of SummerSlam weekend.

The opener will take place at 12am BST on Sunday (4pm PT, 6pm CT, 7pm ET tonight), with the main event starting at 1am BST on Sunday (5pm PT, 7pm CT, 8pm ET tonight).

Ohio’s Own Logan Paul will face fan favorite LA Knight for the United States Championship, while Cody Rhodes will challenge Solo Sikoa for the Undisputed WWE Championship, and the returning Rhea Ripley will challenge Liv Morgan for the Women’s World Championship.
