Mr Levy said Sunday’s celebrations would attract more than 300 choir members from Auckland to experience Rotorua, and local choirs would also join in the fun.

“The Austrian Choir has pledged to hold workshops on Austrian folk songs and yodeling, which anyone in the community can attend.
“We will be playing a piece by Leon Gray, a composer from Tauranga, New Zealand, called Pohutukawa – It’s a Matariki song cycle, so it’s really special that we’re singing his songs in Rotorua for tourists visiting our country.
“I’m excited to bring people – some of whom are from right around where I was born – out here to see what Rotorua and New Zealand is like,” Ley said.
