On Sarajevo’s main city road, from Skenderija to the intersection with Radićeva Street, finishing works are underway and will be completed at midnight. Due to the works, traffic was completely suspended during the weekend, but the road is expected to be open to traffic on Sunday-Monday night.
The Sarajevo Cantonal Department of Transport said that the first phase of reconstruction work on the Skenderija main road will be completed this weekend. The work will continue after the Sarajevo Film Festival and the total length of the repaired road is about 2.8 kilometers. The first phase of the work is currently underway and includes the section from Skenderija to Ćumurija Bridge, with a total length of 1,080 meters.
Transport Minister Adnan Šteta stressed that this is a large project that is particularly challenging due to traffic organization. “On average, about 34,000 vehicles use this road every day. Due to its poor condition, it is necessary to repair it, also for the safety of all road users,” Šteta said.
