Worker killed after slapping drinking buddy

Kaieteur News – A 22-year-old labourer was reportedly killed after he beat his drinking buddy several times at the Bebis River Dunes in Region 10 on Monday afternoon.
The victim was Francis Sukhu of Sand Hill. Police reported that the drinking buddies stabbed Sukhu several times with scissors after the argument escalated into violence.
The stabbing happened between 17:00 and 18:07 on Monday afternoon at a store in Sand Hill.
Investigators learned that Suhu and the suspect were drinking rum and lime with friends at the store. Police said the situation took a turn for the worse after the suspect and Suhu got into an argument. Suhu allegedly slapped the suspect multiple times as the argument intensified.
The suspect allegedly left the store and returned with a pair of scissors, police said. He allegedly ran up to Suhu and stabbed him five times.
Suhu fell to the ground and the suspect ran away. Suhu was then rushed to Linden Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The investigation is still ongoing.
