A 30-year-old woman in Suriname kept her fetus in a box after taking a pregnancy termination pill. The case took place on Sunday in Gravenbeekstraat.
The mother of seven said the situation was more than she could handle. Her partner had a child with another woman who was the same age as her youngest daughter, nine months old.
The financial burden of the children fell mainly on her partner, which made her desperate and led to her decision to terminate the pregnancy.
After consultation with the Surinamese prosecutor’s office, the police gave the woman a serious warning and expelled her. Further details about the case are not yet known.
