Suriname-Brazilian diocese launches campaign against domestic violence

Nasser Dahoe, president of the “My love for you will never end” Foundation, took an important step in the fight against domestic violence by officially handing over the “Stop Domestic Violence” poster to Fr. Ancelmo CssR of the Paróquia Nossa Senhora de Nazaré (Parish of Our Lady of Nazareth) in Paramaribo.

The presentation marked an important milestone in the Foundation’s efforts to combat domestic violence in Suriname, with a special focus on the Brazilian community.

This community is an integral part of Surinamese society and often faces unique challenges and cultural barriers that make access to resources difficult.

The ‘Stop Domestic Violence’ poster aims to raise awareness and encourage victims to seek help.

The posters provide important information about where and how to get help and highlight the importance of a violence-free environment within the home and community.

Father Anselmo expressed his deep appreciation for the initiative and stressed the importance of working together to address violence in the community.

He assured the parish of its full support for the project and said the posters would be displayed prominently in churches and other community centres to attract a wide audience.
