When you create an account online or install an app, you’re probably entering into a legally binding contract. Even if you’ve never signed anything. We sign these contracts so often these days, it feels like no big deal.
But there are horror stories like Greg Selden. He tried to sue AirBnB for racial discrimination while using the site. But he had essentially signed away his right to sue AirBnB when he created his account. The agreement was hidden in a little red link that most people probably wouldn’t even bother to click.
But it wasn’t always this way. On today’s show, we’ll look back in time to see how contract law was rewritten. And why today you can be caught accepting a contract without even knowing it.
