Students who want to study in their dream high school next year will continue to wait with excitement for the LGS results. Once the results are announced, the selection process will begin and students will make their choice of the high school where they will enter this important phase of their lives.
When will LGS results be announced?
The LGS exam results will be announced on June 28, 2024. The results will be published on the website www.meb.gov.tr.
Exam score documents will not be emailed to students.
When does the LGS offer start?
The Ministry of Education has not yet released information on the dates for LGS preference, but considering the dates of the previous semester, the LGS preference process is expected to start next week after the results are announced.
Last year, LGS results were announced on June 23 and LGS offers started on July 3.

Expert evaluation of LGS
Eighth grade students from all over Turkey participated in the LGS today and teachers commented on the issues raised in the LGS.
Fatih Haktürk stated: “We have given up the 2024 LGS, which has more than 1 million students participating. It was observed that the question types of the 2024 LGS are the same as in previous years, which are able to measure students’ reading comprehension, explanation, conclusion, problem-solving and analytical skills. Compared with previous years, this year’s exams found that the Turkish and Science exams had longer questions, and the mathematics exam was more grade-focused compared to last year. “It can be assumed that the long questions in Turkish and Science will challenge students’ time management.” said.
Hilal Çaça said: “The Turkish language questions in the LGS 2024, which is held for secondary education institutions that recruit students through examinations, were conducted within the framework of the results announced by the Ministry of Education. In the exam, the subjects of “Sentence components” and “Verb phonetics” from the 8th grade curriculum were not asked. At the same time, the test questions overlapped with the sample questions announced by the Ministry of Education during the year. In this exam, we saw all stages of semantic knowledge generated by the distribution of Turkish subjects. Questions included topics such as “Word meaning, sentence meaning, idioms, paragraph interpretation, poetry interpretation, text types, expression disorders, language, spelling rules, punctuation, sentence types, visual graphic interpretation, verbal logic”. .
It was observed that the visual graphics questions, which have become increasingly important in the LGS, stood out in the 2024 LGS and presented a certain level of difficulty in this exam. The importance of using the TDK dictionary and reading books, a final point that we stressed throughout the process of studying with students, was confirmed again in this exam. Questions; suitable for students with advanced analytical skills, the ability to make inferences, reasoning from what they read and general literacy skills. Compared to the previous LGS, we can clearly see that the text content has been expanded and the difficulty has increased accordingly. “We see that the 2024 LGS Turkish exam contains questions that require attention, and being able to manage time correctly is one of the most necessary achievements for this exam,” he said.
Kenan Akgün said: “The mathematics exams were prepared based on the MEB curriculum and grades. The questions were based on reasoning ability, understanding and application of what was read.
Questions 12, 14, and 16 require a high level of judgment.
The questions; it is from subjects like algebraic expressions, real numbers, square roots, tabular graphs, symmetry, solution of equations, linear relations, perfect squares, triangle inequalities, inequalities, exponents, slope, similarity and probability. The questions in this exam are of higher difficulty compared to the exams held since LGS 2018. There are more yield-oriented questions compared to last year. “Students who can understand and comment on what they read, have a strong concentration, good mathematical practical skills and can manage their time well, will not face any problem in mathematical questions except for a few questions,” he said.
Neşe Murat said, “When checking the exam questions, it was found that they were in line with the MEB curriculum and grades. The difficulty and number of featured questions throughout the exam increased compared to previous years. These included questions that contained tables, graphs, visuals, and experimental interpretation questions. As in previous years, there were also questions that were given texts, requiring students to think about the structure of the questions. More questions were asked in the DNA and Genetic Code, Matter, and Industry sectors, which have a lot of learning outcomes. It was observed that the texts of these questions were longer than last year. “It is believed that students who do not lack knowledge in the exam, who answer questions regularly without time constraints, and who have strong interpretation skills will be more successful,” he said.
Ufuk Massat said: “The questions were prepared based on the national education curriculum and grades. No questions were asked in the last unit. The questions were designed to test logic and explanation. “This is a medium-difficulty exam that also includes questions that contain conceptual references between units,” he said.
Rukiye Özeloğlu said: “The questions of the LGS English exam on June 2, 2024 are in line with the MEB curriculum and grades. The distribution of questions depending on the unit is balanced. Questions about Units 7 and 10 were not asked in the exam. The difficulty of the exam questions is divided into easy and medium. The questions are not just a measure of grammar. The exam includes questions that measure reading comprehension and the ability to make correct inferences based on the preliminary information given; completing conversations, making correct choices based on the information given, being able to express and understand preferences, etc. Question types are used. All questions are of the new generation and encourage students to think. Only 4 negative questions were asked this year, and the structure is well-rooted. “Every student who reads the test questions carefully, understands the question type, and makes inferences can expect to achieve complete success,” he said.
Şeyma Doğan said: “The 2024 LGS Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge test questions were prepared based on the results and sample questions published by the Ministry of Education. Questions from all units in the curriculum were asked in the exam. While almost all questions last year were about reading comprehension and interpretation, what is different this year is that questions that measure knowledge also appeared in the exam. In this exam, the importance of reading, annotation and analytical skills was once again recognized. The questions were solved from multiple perspectives, with an emphasis on comparing, matching and weighing information. The exam questions are of medium difficulty. The questions are clear, concise and compatible with the examples solved in the curriculum and mock exams. “We believe that every student who reads carefully and makes inferences will succeed,” he said.
