Every July 1, the Ministry of Labor presents a proposal to increase the hourly rate for personal assistance and the amount of cash allowance for care. The goal is to improve the conditions and living standards of those who provide personal assistance or care for people with physical disabilities (PWDs).
“For people of working age, this amount of money care From July 1, the benefit for a severely disabled person will rise from €569 to €615.50. People who care for several people should receive just under €820. At the same time, the rate for one hour of personal assistance will rise from €5.52 to €5.83.
Another innovation is the increase in the income limit for caregivers’ work from two times the subsistence allowance to 2.5 times. The childcare allowance for those who care for severely disabled children has also been increased from 100 to 200 euros. “We are fulfilling our obligations from the Spring Round Table. The new law I signed will help families with severely disabled children. There are about 8,300 such families in Slovakia and we want to reduce their financial burden and contribute to improving their quality of life,” explains Minister Erik Tomáš.
