Another post-election insider book that the author has become a bestseller is titled: Courage and the Corridors of Power:
“There were definitely a few rough days after the debate, and I want to emphasize that it was never my idea. In fact, I stayed as far away from debate prep as possible. But after the debate, they wanted me to take the lead in cleaning up a mess I didn’t create. After the George Stephanopoulos interview failed to turn things around, my biggest contribution was to spread the idea to the media and party insiders that Biden’s decision would be influenced in part by the advice of congressional Democrats. It was ridiculous. Most House Democrats, like the Congressional Black Caucus, have safe seats. Even if Trump is in power, they’ll be around in 2025. So what good is it for them to oppose Biden? Biden isn’t going anyway. Even Hakeem Jeffries knows he’ll likely be Speaker after the 2026 election.”
Despite advances of more than six figures, several of Biden’s books never sold well, including one written as a tribute to Dylan. This isn’t me, baby:
“In the dark days after the debate, a series of small meetings were held by people who had been with Biden over the years, asking the question: ‘Who will tell the president?’ It certainly wouldn’t be Jill or Hunter. Old friends and colleagues looked at me in these moments, and Dylan’s lyrics came back to my mind as I slumped in my chair, trying to appear invisible. I wasn’t going to be the one jeopardizing the lucrative career of a future Hollywood executive or a seat on the Biden library board. They weren’t going to give MSNBC jobs to notoriously disloyal Democrats. I knew I would be fine personally if Trump won, so I wisely pretended I’d never heard the question. And yes, I started drinking early on election night.”
A book about the Biden fiasco was never published because no White House insider had the courage to live through it. That much-needed book should be called, Resign in protest against the US President.
