Santo Domingo. – After coming under heavy criticism for his controversial statement that “it is not a crime to get your partner pregnant without their consent”, Deputy MP Eugenio Cedeno He said, “What on earth do I have to apologize for?”

“I have nothing to be sorry for. I have nothing to be ashamed of… I did not kill, rape, kidnap, beat or humiliate any woman. I defended legislative positions within my powers as a councillor, in accordance with the constitution. What on earth do I have to apologize for,” Cedeño wrote on his X account.

The deputy was reacting after the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) asked the State Prosecutor and the Ethics and Control Commission to initiate the corresponding disciplinary procedures for his statements, ensuring that they had a “highly negative” connotation for women’s rights and encouraged gender violence.

Likewise, politicians such as Margarita Cedeño, Legislatorand others expressed indignation and demanded an apology from Eugenio.
