National strategy:
WFP’s Protracted Relief and Recovery Operation (PRRO) in Zimbabwe aims to preserve livelihoods and safeguard the nutritional status of the chronically food-insecure population by addressing the underlying causes of food insecurity and undernutrition.
The PRRO pays special attention to vulnerable groups, such as children and people living with HIV. The Zimbabwe Country Strategy (2012-2015) outlines WFP’s plan for the transition from food aid to food aid and development.
The World Food Programme has been operating in Zimbabwe since 2002.
