St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda – Cricket West Indies (CWI) is pleased to announce the squad for the West Indies Cricket Team for the upcoming home series against South Africa to be held from 7 to 19 August 2024. The series will be played at two venues, with the first Test match to be held at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad and Tobago and the second and final Test match to be held at the National Stadium in Guyana.

Miles Bascombe, CWI Director of Cricket, said he is confident the squad has the ability to perform well in this important series against South Africa: “We have every confidence in the selection process for this squad. The selection process for this squad was led by our Head Coach Andre Coley, pending the implementation of our new selection process which will be rolled out over the coming days and announced to the public soon. This squad reflects a thorough assessment of the players’ recent performances and suitability for the conditions we expect. We are confident this squad is extremely well balanced and capable of competing at the highest level.”
Head Coach Andre Coley said: “The squad we have chosen for this series is a balanced mix of experienced and young players, carefully selected to maximise our performance in the conditions in Trinidad and Guyana. We have decided to rest Vice Captain Alzarri Joseph for this series. Alzarri has had a heavy workload recently and this break will allow him to recover and get back to his best form. Kevin Sinclair is currently recovering from injury.”
