U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced on Wednesday that truce talks in the Gaza Strip have entered their final stages.
Blinken said at a press conference:Gaza ceasefire talks have entered their final stages, stressing the need for all parties to work towards finalising a deal as soon as possible.
He added: “Everyone in the region must understand that further attacks will only perpetuate conflict, instability and insecurity for all.”
The Middle East faces the risk of expanding conflict after Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated in Tehran and Lebanon Hezbollah leader Fuad Shoukr was assassinated in an Israeli attack in the southern suburbs of Beirut a few days ago.
