500 young people are expected to go to Israel to work in August.
Paul Kalilombe, an official from the Ministry of Works, told the parliamentary public accounts committee that this was based on recent discussions between Malawi and the State of Israel, who said the government had offered 3,000 young people the opportunity to travel to the country.
Mr Kalilombe also told the committee that young people who have completed travel plans through private recruitment agencies must re-register with the government. Meanwhile, the ministry said it had started recruiting young people this week.
