The Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force’s JS Ariake crew showed off their sportsmanship as they battled against the Palau Ministry of Education and Ministry of Justice volleyball team in a series of exciting friendly matches. The event, held on August 18, brought together JS Ariake participants and Palau government employees for a fun-filled afternoon of friendly competition.

The competition was fast-paced, exciting and thrilling. Four games were played in one and a half hours. Each game showed the players’ concentration and passion, and reflected the deep friendship between Japan and Palau.

The first match was between Ariake 1 and the Educational Corps, and Ariake 1 won 20 to 14. The second match was very intense, with the Judicial Corps team narrowly defeating Ariake 2 with 20 to 18.

The third match was a mixed format, further highlighting the spirit of unity. The combined team of MOE and Ariake 1 faced off against the mixed team of Judicial Academy and Ariake 2, with Judicial Academy and Ariake 2 once again winning by a score of 24-22.

The final match of the day was between Palau (Team Justice and Team MOE) and Japan (Team Ariake 1 and Team 2). Palau won 20-15 with teamwork and determination, bringing the series to a successful conclusion.

The event was more than just a game, it was a celebration of the strong ties and shared values ​​between Japan and Palau. Both players gave their best and were cheered on by their teammates and spectators.
