2024 World Series schedule: Week 3 in Manila, Philippines

MANILA, Philippines – Team USA is bracing for a tough advance to the quarterfinals of the Volleyball World League (VNL) as they will play a key role in their first match in week three in Manila.

This is the third consecutive time that the Philippines has hosted the prestigious world championship, and the U.S. team caught all eyes as they competed at the Mall of Asia Arena for the first time.

“It’s great to be here. This is our first year here. We’ve seen so much passion from the Filipino fans online and on social media, so it’s great to finally be here and experience it all in person,” said U.S. captain Mika Christensen. “We’re excited to experience it all.” Full Story

MANILA, Philippines — Yuki Ishikawa and the Japanese team are excited to be in Manila for the third consecutive time to compete in Week 3 of the 2024 Volleyball World League (VNL), which gets underway at the Mall of Asia Arena on Tuesday.

The Japanese men’s volleyball team, which is loved by Filipino fans, will resume its VNL match against Canada at 8:30 p.m. after playing against the Netherlands and Brazil at 5 p.m.

“We are happy to be here again. We have been competing for the past two years and we are doing well now. This week is very important for us because after the group stage, we have the FIVB Volleyball World League final and the Olympics,” said Shi Ruo, who will compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics. “Our goal is to learn from the lessons of the Olympics.
