The nightmare is repeated in the Noumea Ducos industrial area. Three businesses were burned down again during the night between Sunday and Monday. This morning a large fire broke out that still requires the intervention of firefighters.

An arson fire broke out in the industrial area of Noumea Ducos during the night between Sunday and Monday. The SFAC terminal, already affected by a fire in a neighbouring garage on May 14, has now started to burn again. This time, not one tenth of the surface has been reduced to ashes, but the entire surface. As of the morning, firefighters are still on the scene. Smoke still shrouds the site.

The chief explained that a pickup truck was parked on the other side of the fence and was set on fire. “Our house was on fire, that’s it. 1,500 square metres of the dock and warehouse were reduced to ashes.”

This is years of work and a source of income for about fifty employees. We have barrels of oil, batteries, auto parts, and tools. Everything you’ll find in our shop is stored here, with months of inventory.

There is nothing left to sell and this shortage will continue for several months. ? Will you help? ? Business managers have a lot of questions. “It will never end”, He said painfully:I have the impression that we have allowed this to happen with impunity. I doubt we will ever find a culprit in this story.”

An industrial maintenance company next to SFAC was also destroyed by the fire. The company specializes in welding and cutting equipment and has about thirty employees. Gabriel Kavakava is a co-manager. He said “A feeling of sadness. This campaign has not been at its best in a crisis, which was already there, but on top of that this has been added… We will deal with it, we will endure.” After spending a month and a half defending his station, Gabriel returned home to Mont-Dore, feeling that Ducos once again required vigilance.
