Vice President Dr Michael Bizwik Usi this morning visited the Blantyre Cultural Centre (formerly the French Cultural Centre) to review the progress of the ongoing restoration works.

However, the Vice President was disappointed with the slow progress, which was two years behind schedule.
The Vice President then called on the relevant departments to take concerted action to complete the renovation work as soon as possible.
When asked when the centre would be ready, the Director General of Construction, Sam Ngoma, assured the Vice President that it would be operational in four months.
“So that means it will be ready by October 23, 2024? Please sign here,” Dr Usi told Mr Ngoma.
The contractor responsible for the restoration work is Opco Limited.
