UTM Publicity Secretary, Felix Njawala has urged the country’s youths to register in large numbers when the voter registration opens so that they can participate in the upcoming elections.

Njawala addresses young people

Njawara made the remarks at a candlelight ceremony in Ndilande township in Blantyre, which was also attended by other politicians including the Democratic Alliance’s Atupele Muluzi, lawmakers Ismael Mkumba and Chipirilo Mpingjira.

“If you want to see change, then please register to vote,” he said.

Muluzi stressed that young people need to remain enthusiastic until Malawi sees the needed changes.

He said: “I came to support this course because, as you know, we also lost our mother in this tragedy.

“We have lost important people, let us honor them by continuing to follow their vision.”

The UTM continues to hold candlelight remembrances across the country to honor their late leader, Saulos Chilima, and the others who died with him in the June 10, 2024 plane crash.
