The Central Command social media account issued a statement saying that US Air Force F-22 fighter jets had arrived in the area.

The statement said F-22 Raptor fighter jets had visited the U.S. Intelligence Command area of responsibility as part of the redeployment of U.S. troops in the region to “reduce the potential for Iran or its proxies to escalate tensions in the region.”

It is not clear how many F-22 aircraft have been sent to the region or in which countries they are deployed.

Ismail Haniyeh, chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau, was assassinated in Tehran, the capital of Iran, on July 31.

Iran and Hamas accused Israel of being responsible for the attack, and officials in Tehran warned Tel Aviv of retaliation.

On the other hand, it is reported that General Michel Eric Kurira, the commander of the Central Command, visited Israel again amid the ongoing tensions with Iran. Kurira, who last visited Israel on August 5, met with Defense Minister Yoav Galant and Chief of Staff Hertz Halevi.
