The invitation to enter the Russian regional market issued by the Chairman of the Sverdlovsk Regional Equestrian Federation, businessman and philanthropist Oleg Gusev is promising for Kyrgyz producers. He expressed this idea during a meeting with the Consul General of the Republic in Yekaterinburg Maksat Tentimishov and representatives of the Kyrgyz Republic Clothing Company.
Oleg Gusev introduced the pilot project of the sports industry cluster to his colleagues. He said that Kyrgyzstan’s clothing factories could participate in its implementation. He was also ready to provide a platform for Kyrgyz colleagues to showcase their products.
The Consul General of the Kyrgyz Republic, for his part, called on Kyrgyz clothing companies to actively participate in events and exhibitions held in the Ural capital. “This creates opportunities for expanding the market for goods,” the diplomat recalled.
Meanwhile, the Secretariat of the Council of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS (IPA) reports that there is also a platform of interest for Kyrgyz clothing manufacturers. The IPA is one of the organizers of the international forum “Fashion Commonwealth”. The conference will be held in St. Petersburg this autumn. Designers from the Kyrgyz Republic are invited to participate.
The international forum will be held in Russia for the third time. Its stated purpose is to promote national brands and find solutions to pressing problems of clothing manufacturers at the legislative level and in practice. In addition, this year’s forum will include a wide range of activities. On the basis of traditional topics such as economy, production, creative industries, talent policy, cultural traditions, etc., fashion tourism, beauty and health will be added.
The forum will be held at the Tavrid Palace. In addition to the CIS IPA, its organizers include the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, as well as the Russian Export Center and Soyuzlegprom.
“As part of the event, fashion shows will be held, showcasing the work of outstanding and emerging designers from Commonwealth countries,” the Secretariat of the Council of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS stressed. – Kyrgyzstan will be represented at the forum by a designer from the Dilbar Fashion Company, who creates modern versions of secular clothing based on traditional clothing patterns for oriental women.
Official data show that Russia has been the main market for Kyrgyzstan’s light industry for many years. The Russian Federation accounts for nearly two-thirds of the Kyrgyz Republic’s exports of clothing products.
The output of the republic’s light industry will grow significantly by the end of 2023. According to estimates by the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic, the output will increase by 20% compared to 2022 and reach 16.4 billion soms.
