Traffic supervisor, Senior Superintendent Mitieli Divuana has warned students and schools that police will not tolerate any unruly behaviour at tomorrow’s Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League Vodafone Dean quarter-final.
SSP Divuana said traffic police would not hesitate to confiscate items such as flags if anyone was found using them in a dangerous manner on a moving vehicle.
“Traffic police will enhance traffic visibility along the Queen’s Highway, major arterial roads and the capital,” said SSP Divuana.
“The hanging of flags outside the windows of buses and cars is prohibited and we ask that parents, teachers or guardians assist in strictly supervising the behavior of their children.
“Drivers are reminded to plan their trips in advance to avoid congestion.
“We request for everyone’s cooperation to avoid any major incidents on the roads.”
The Raluve quarter-final will be held today at the HFC Bank Stadium in Laucala, Suva, while the Super Deans quarter-final will be held at the same venue tomorrow.
In the past, some students have behaved badly during and after the competition and the Fiji Police Force said it would take action against those who fail to comply with the law.
