The UAE will lead a high-level official delegation to the 16th Gulf Radio and Television Festival, which opened yesterday.
The three-day festival is hosted by Gulf Broadcasting and Television of the Gulf Cooperation Council in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Under the slogan “Media of the United Arab Emirates”, the Emirates Media Council oversees the organisation of national pavilions during the festival and includes a group of national media and academic institutions including Abu Dhabi Media Network, Dubai Media, Sharjah Media City (Shams), Fujairah Culture and Media Authority and the Emirates Media Council.
Yesterday, Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Minister of Information of the Kingdom of Bahrain and Chairman of the Gulf Radio and Television Festival, opened the Radio and Television Production Marketplace held during the festival. He visited the UAE Pavilion, learned about the activities and projects of participating media and academic institutions, and expressed pride in the interactive and advanced radio and television content provided by UAE institutions that keeps pace with the development of the industry, especially in the field of artificial BroadCast Unitedligence and advanced technologies.
“The purpose of participating in the festival is to strengthen joint cooperation in the Gulf media and exchange expertise and experience among media institutions,” said Maitha Majid Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of the Media Strategy and Policy Sector at the UAE Media Council. “It also focuses on the advanced level of radio and television operations in the country and strengthens the UAE’s position on the global media map by establishing strategic partnerships with Gulf media institutions.”
She added that the festival is an ideal platform to showcase the achievements of the country’s media industry, including its advanced infrastructure, flexible regulatory environment, creative talent and outstanding media production.
Mohammed Sulaiman Al Mulla, CEO of Dubai Media, stressed that the festival represents one of the best media creative forums in the region as it contributes to unifying media visions and supporting excellence in the radio and television industry, and is a platform to highlight the artistic and technical achievements made in radio and television production in the Gulf and Arab region, and provides an opportunity to learn about the quality and new experiences in the industry and to establish new partnerships with production companies.
