The Under-14 Reggae Boyz have reached the semi-finals of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Boys Under-14 Challenge Series with a 2-0 win over Caribbean rivals Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) at the Dwight York Stadium in Tobago on Monday.
This was Jamaica’s third win of the tournament and with a perfect record and a flawless defensive performance, Jamaica remained at the top of the group.
Jamaica controlled the match from the outset, putting early pressure on Trinidad and Tobago and controlling the tempo of the match. Their persistence paid off in the 28th minute when Davion Clark scored. Despite facing heavy defensive pressure on the edge of the penalty area, Clark’s precise shot gave Jamaica a well-deserved lead.
Strong performance in the group stage
Just one minute into the second half, Jamaica extended their lead, capitalizing on a mistake by Trinidad and Tobago defender Lucas Shaw to equalize the score. Shaw’s misplaced pass allowed Jamaica to launch a quick counterattack, with Corando Morris dribbling past two defenders and calmly slotting the ball into the net for Jamaica’s second goal of the night.
The win caps off a strong run for Jamaica in the group stage, where they have now won all three of their games to earn a maximum of nine points. Trinidad and Tobago is in second place with six points, while St. Kitts and Aruba are third and fourth with one point respectively. It is worth noting that Jamaica has a perfect defensive record, not conceding a single goal in the tournament so far. They started their campaign with a 2-0 win over St. Kitts, and followed that up with a 6-0 thumping of Aruba.

After securing their place in the semi-finals, the Jamaican boys will now turn their attention to their final group match against Aruba on Tuesday. The match will take place at the Dwight York Stadium at 5:30pm (Jamaica time) and will give Jamaica the opportunity to finish as group winners and continue their momentum into the knockout rounds.
