Two young people will donate €6,000 to 10 weddings they will attend this year. Many people postpone their holidays to save money.

With the holidays comes the wedding season, and some young people attend 10 such events, so the gifts for everyone exceed several thousand euros.

To honor them would require considerable financial effort, so they postponed their vacations so as not to turn anyone away.

This is the number of weddings Andrea and her fiancé will attend this year. They have only counted everyone’s gifts so far – about 6,000 euros. Since they are good friends and are getting married next year, they have given up their vacations.

Andreea Sebeni: “My parents, his parents, our savings so far and our monthly salary all helped us. In fact, I gave up my vacation last year and this year because of the wedding.”

Gabriel and his partner have many more such events to celebrate – 13. Since this year they will also be bride and groom, they are waiting for everyone at the party.

But in addition to gifts, most people also need money to buy clothes, especially women, because they can’t wear the same dress to all weddings.

Stefania and Casian will host 10 weddings. Again, they can’t say no. In their case, wedding gifts start at 200 euros per couple.

Ştefania Şileam: “We are thinking of giving up our honeymoon and vacation and postponing it until next year. If you want it to come, you have to go.”

Sociologist Alin Tomuş says that this behavior of not turning down such an invitation regardless of economic efforts stems from the way we were raised.

“This is a mirror image of how we are socialized, we are taught in the sense that if we are invited to a wedding, we must be respectful, especially because this behavior will be reflected in the return of the wedding in time,” said sociologist Alin Tomuş. “We are happy to accept because those who invited us are our friends and a reason for our social connection. “

If the bride and groom are siblings or close relatives, the budget for wedding gifts can increase significantly. In this case, a couple will also put 600 euros in the envelope.
