The first victim was 32-year-old Cher Maximen, who attended the carnival with her three-year-old daughter and other relatives and friends and died on Saturday morning. She was stabbed in the groin when she tried to break up a fight on Sunday (25/8). A 20-year-old suspect has been detained in connection with the incident.

Mussie Imnetu, a 41-year-old chef living in Dubai, died on Friday from his injuries. He was found unconscious with a head injury outside a restaurant in west London on Monday evening (August 26).

Police do not believe Imnetu, who was born in Sweden and was doing business in the UK, was at the carnival. A 31-year-old man has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent in the case.

Earlier, police said eight people were stabbed and hundreds were arrested for disorderly conduct during this year’s carnival.

Notting Hill Carnival has been held in London at the end of August since 1966, celebrating the culture and traditions of the Afro-Caribbean community. Thousands of people visit over two days.
