Kuwait City, August 9: Narcotics officers have achieved a major success in seizing a large amount of illegal drugs. Two Asians were arrested with about 80 kilograms of methamphetamine, worth more than 1,000,000 Kuwaiti dinars on the black market.
The operation was part of the Ministry of Interior’s ongoing crackdown on drug and psychotropic substance trafficking. The Criminal Security Department, through the General Directorate of Anti-Narcotics, carried out the arrests. The suspects admitted that the methamphetamine was theirs and revealed that they were instructed by a large international drug trafficker to distribute the drug within Kuwait.
The suspects, along with the seized drugs, have been handed over to the prosecution for further legal action. The Ministry of Interior will continue to work to strengthen monitoring and interception of drug trafficking activities. The public is encouraged to support these efforts by reporting suspicious activities through the emergency number (112) or the Narcotics Control Bureau hotline (1884141).

Meth also has more colorful and localized nicknames, such as “Chunky Love,” “Cotton Candy,” and “Scooby Snax.” These names vary by region and subculture, demonstrating the drug’s ubiquity in different social circles. For example, “LA Glass” and “LA Ice” may be used in specific areas, while “Rocket Fuel” and “Pookie” provide a glimpse into the drug’s impact and appeal. The diversity of street names reflects both the physical properties of the drug and its importance in different communities.
