The Governor of Port Said met with representatives of the Port Said International Film Festival to discuss preparations for the festival

Under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and the Port Said Governorate, Major General Moheb Habash, the Governor of Port Said, met with representatives of the Port Said International Film Festival to discuss preparations for the first Port Said Film Festival, which will be held from December 1 to 5, 2024.

Director Mohamed Fadl, honorary president of the festival, Ahmed Asher, film critic and president of the festival, Abdul Salam Alfi, chairman of the board of directors of the Port Said Performing Arts and Culture Association, and the festival’s working team.

All aspects related to the organization of the Port Said International Film Festival in the Port Said Governorate, which aims to provide a platform for cinematic creativity and includes a variety of programs that reflect local and international cinema developments, were discussed. The festival aims to attract a large number of filmmakers and young talents from all over the world and achieve positive goals on several levels, such as spreading film culture, supporting tourism in the city, discovering new talents, hosting artistic workshops, and providing the public with the opportunity to discover new horizons in cinema, offering a unique cinematic experience that contributes to enriching Egypt’s cultural landscape.

The Governor of Port Said confirmed that the festival is an addition to the Port Said Governorate’s efforts to enrich the cultural and artistic sector in the governorate, stressing the importance of good artistic and media planning and preparation to organize and hold the festival in the best possible way, with adequate coordination between the festival organizers and the Port Said Governorate to enable the implementation of outstanding artistic works.
