A composting program has been launched in Gizo, Solomon Islands, marking a major step towards sustainable agriculture and waste management.
Over the past five days, a dedicated team collected 45 kg of food waste from Gizo market and successfully converted 10 kg of it into nutrient-rich compost.
The effort is part of the Waste to Wealth initiative, an innovative project that aims to empower local farmers, especially women, by promoting sustainable agricultural practices.

Special thanks to Krishna, an expert from India, who travelled to the Solomon Islands to source black soldier flies, a key ingredient in the composting process, and to set up a composting system.
