Turkmenistan Television appoints new director
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has appointed Gurbandurdun Begenyov as the new director of Turkmenistan Television, the State Committee for Television, Radio and Cinema. The appointment comes after Yagmyr Nuryev was fired for health reasons. Begenyov will lead the channel to showcase Turkmenistan’s achievements and ongoing reforms.
Turkmenistan Television has played an important role in presenting the country’s development to the international community since its establishment on September 12, 2004. The channel broadcasts in seven languages - Turkmen, Russian, English, French, Chinese, Arabic and Persian – and aims to enhance global awareness of Turkmenistan’s development in all fields.
