Former US President Donald Trump posted a fake photo of pop star Taylor Swift on his social network True, urging people to vote for him in the November election. He also posted multiple photos of female fans of the singer, which experts believe were created by artificial intelligence.

The photo shows the singer wearing the colors of the American flag, with the caption “Taylor Swift wants you to vote for Donald Trump.”

“I accept!” Trump wrote.

Swift has not publicly endorsed any 2024 candidates, but has supported Democrats in the past.

In 2020, the singer supported the candidacies of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. She also criticized Trump in a 2020 documentary.

Spokespeople for Swift and Trump did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the post.

Trump also posted photos of young women wearing “Trump Fans” T-shirts and a satirical article titled “Taylor Swift Fans Turn to Trump After ISIS Blocks Her Concert.” The headline above the article was written in capital letters – Satire.

Taylor Swift canceled three concerts scheduled for this month in Vienna after authorities said they had foiled a planned attack. Local officials arrested a 19-year-old man they said was inspired by the Islamic State.

Some Swift fans and activist groups said many of the photos Trump posted appeared to be “dipfakes,” false images generated by artificial intelligence software.

Lawyers working in the music industry, Hollywood and Washington are pushing for federal legislation and other measures to combat the proliferation of fake artificial intelligence imagery online.

Consumer advocacy group Public Citizen said Trump’s statement was “yet another example of the power of artificial intelligence to create misinformation.”

“This type of misinformation, including election abuse, could potentially cause far-reaching and very dangerous harm to our society,” the group added.

Taylor Swift fan Rebecca Goff handed out friendship bracelets at a breakfast hosted by the Nevada Democratic Party during the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, a common practice among Taylor Swift fans.

Gove, 39, said she believes Trump is the antithesis of everything Swift stands for.

“Her advocacy for women and girls is the opposite of what Trump and the Republican Party are trying to do, especially with women. They want to undermine us, they want us to return to our roles as housewives and mothers,” Gove said.
