Trump: ‘Illegal immigrants saved my life’

Washington – Former US President and Republican candidate Donald Trump (2017-2021) assured on Monday that illegal immigrants “saved” his life on the day of the attack and joked that he would even sleep with the image shown to the public that turning his head allowed him to dodge a bullet.

“Illegal immigrants saved my life,” he told tycoon Elon Musk during a live conversation with X owners on the platform.

The attack occurred at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, injuring his ear. A 20-year-old, who was later killed by agents, shot him from a rooftop outside the venue, killing one person in the audience and wounding two others.

Just before he was hit in the ear, Trump turned and showed people a graph showing his data showing a significant drop in illegal immigration during his tenure.

«It’s a miracle. “If I hadn’t turned my head, no matter how much I like you, I wouldn’t be here talking to you right now,” he told Musk in a conversation that started 45 minutes late because, according to the tycoon, the network suffered a massive denial of service attack known as DDOS.

Trump said he was glad the image was used. “I’ll always sleep with him,” he joked. As usual, he used his speech to accuse Joe Biden’s administration of opening its borders to “illegal immigrants” and allowing countries like Venezuela to reduce crime levels by “getting rid of” them.

The former president also downplayed how quickly he got up after the attack, saying he left an image for posterity: his ears were bloodied, his fists were raised, and he was still surrounded by the forces of order.

«I wanted (the public) to know that I was OK. That was very important to me. They didn’t know if I was alive until I stood up and raised my fist. When I did that, they were relieved and happy. “The place went crazy,” he said.

His conversation with Musk took place on the same day that Trump became active on X again and tweeted various election information.
