Former President Donald Trump broke the record for the longest nomination acceptance speech ever with a 92-minute acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Thursday night — after midnight on the East Coast — and just days after an assassination attempt.
ABC News and other media reported that Trump’s 92-minute speech set a record. Trump usually speaks for more than an hour at campaign rallies, but after nearly being killed, he spoke late at night and showed that he was stronger than ever.

The contrast with President Joe Biden, whose peak performance aides say occurs only between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., is subtle but stark, as Trump demonstrates his energy while Biden has publicly pledged to go to bed earlier.
CNN slammed Trump’s speech, with Van Jones quipping, “Trump dodged a bullet on Saturday. The Democrats dodged a bullet tonight.” Other guests criticized it, saying the second half of the speech was just a collection of Trump’s “greatest speeches.”
They all agreed that the beginning of the speech was very fascinating because Trump describe He shared his personal experience of surviving the assassination attempt and paid tribute to firefighter Corey Coperatore, who died in the hail of bullets.
But CNN panelists were convinced that Trump’s return to rhetorical form would turn off voters watching at home, even though he used the word “Biden” only once and spent much less time than usual attacking his opponent.
For Trump’s fans, the return to form – including making fun of himself – showed that he is indeed okay, even though his ear is still bandaged and his gait appears to have slowed since last Saturday’s terrorist attack.
For those in the audience, the Republican National Convention was not just a political rally but a unifying experience, and Trump’s speech extended the week’s joy, which he predicted everyone would miss after the convention was over.
