ST. KITTS AND NEVIS (WINN) — Tropical Storm Beryl is expected to strengthen into a hurricane as it approaches the Barlovento Islands late Sunday (June 30) or Monday (July 1). The storm could bring heavy rains, hurricane-force winds and dangerous storm surges.
The National Hurricane Center has issued a hurricane warning for Barbados. Additional hurricane warnings and possible tropical storm warnings may be issued for parts of the Barlovento and Southern Leeward Islands later today.
Central and Western Caribbean regions on alert
Authorities advise all stakeholders in the Western and Central Caribbean to closely monitor the progress of Tropical Storm Beryl. Due to uncertainty in the weather forecast for Days 4 and 5, residents should not focus on specific details of the storm’s projected path or intensity.
