(Trinidad Guardian) A Maraval woman was found lying in a pool of blood in her kitchen on Tuesday afternoon, possibly murdered over a domestic dispute.
Residents of Saut D’Eau Road, Maraval, said yesterday that Anjanee Lutchman-Isidore, a 65-year-old mother of four, had many friends but also enemies who wanted her dead.
The victim’s body was found by her husband’s relatives at around 5:36 pm on Tuesday when the victim did not respond to her husband’s calls.
Luchman-Isidore is the primary caregiver for her 95-year-old husband, who is bedridden after suffering a stroke.
When Guardian Media visited the area yesterday, no one was at the home, but nearby residents said the victim used to keep to himself.
But one man said: “She was very friendly to me.”
He said Lutchman-Isidore moved to the area at least a decade ago after marrying her husband, and said there had been an ongoing dispute over the family property, which sits on a hillside in Maraval.
“She got what she wanted,” Guardian Media has learned.
Another said her presence may have “irritated” other relatives.
Police initially claimed her death may have occurred during a robbery, but as of late yesterday it was uncertain if and what was stolen from the house.
When the Guardian arrived at the house, it found multiple surveillance cameras installed around the two-storey property, which also contains several apartments.
The victim’s body was found slumped behind a grey metal kitchen door on the north side of the compound with wounds to his head.
Residents said they were not worried about becoming victims of crime after learning about the killing as they were confident it was just an intra-family issue.
An autopsy was due to take place yesterday at the St James Forensic Science Centre.
