The Tigray People’s Democratic Party (TPF) has submitted a letter to the Election Commission for the second time, requesting the restoration of its legal personality, party chairman Debretsion Gebremichael said. The chairman said he submitted the letter after discussing the party’s affairs with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and told local media that he expected to receive a response within two weeks. Attempts to obtain a response from the Election Commission on the matter were unsuccessful.
